The death of a loved one is a traumatic experience for anyone, but it is especially difficult for children. When Skye loses her beloved grandmother, she experiences a whirlwind of emotions, including sadness, anger and fear. Through Trevor and his sketchbook, Skye has dream-like visit with her grandmother in which they explore questions about death together. As Skye finally begins to accept her grandmother's death, she learns that fond memories last forever.
A child dealing with the death of a loved one may not fully understand his or her grief and may lose interest in coming to school and other activities. As an adult you are aware of the impact that sadness and despair can have on a child's performance in the classroom and at home. This engaging animation offers children to understand their own feelings, empower them with tools to proactively deal with those feelings and conquer unnecessary stress. This animated and live-action movie helps kids to cope with the death of a loved one, understand grief and encourage strong academic performance and to strive to their best selves.
